Spider-man: Gifts & Curses - Two Thumps Up!

OMG, BEST. EPISODE. EVER.

I am becoming a huge fan of this series, I am serious. Its the thing that I can look forward to every day of the week. And I'll be able to do this for the next six years. Hell, I'll be out of school by then! This episode is the best episode to date, but I still have yet gotten to an episode that's my favorite. One that I could read over and over again. But ever episode seems to get better and better.

There was one thing that bugged me about g&c, is the fact that none of the characters were developed enough like Eddie was. And after finishing Episode 1.04, I cannot say this anymore. This one develops the four main characters like hell. Okay, MJ and Eddie didn't do much. MJ is the typical "helper" for everybody. But Eddie and Gwen's relationship is fleshed out quite a bit, hopefully they get together. Or, the whole Venom storyline (like I mentioned in my last review) will take place. But thats just my sad fanboy fantasies.

This one had some great Eddie quotes. I might have to do a "g&c, Quote of the Week" thing. Wouldn't that be awesome?

Again, there are no spelling errors or grammer errors that could be found. I'm not good at finding Grammer Errors, but Spelling ones are really easy to find.

Overall Grade:

10/10

Reaper -- Check. It. Out!

Well, Reaper is a show about Slacker who turns 21-years old to find out that his parents sold his soul to the devil. So now he is the devils bounty hunter.

I admit, I only became intrested when I heard that one of my favorite Directors was involved with the show: Kevin Smith. So I decided to watch and I was reallys surprised. Its pretty good, with lots of humor throughout. The only real problems is: 1). The graphics are really cheesy, but the show is new and it'll get a bigger budget when it continues down its path. 2). You can really tell where some parts where re-short. Such as, the character of Sam having no mustache, but in the next scene -- he has a mustache.

Anyways, it is:

The Show of the Month!!

Spider-Man: Gifts & Curses - Review

Spider-Man: Gifts & Curses, 1.03 "Renaissance"

Alright, besides Elements, this is possibly my most favorite show on MZP. I have never touched a page of a Spider-man comic book, mainly because I can never find the "first" issue. Though I know the origins and a lot of info on it.

This episode is just as great as the others, and this one ends on a happy note. It made me smile having Eddie, Gwen, MJ, and Peter all hanging out, eating. Eddie & Gwen's relationship starts up in this episode. You can really tell that Gwen is starting to fall for Eddie and that MJ is falling for Peter. I know that MJ & Peter are BEST FRIENDS but still, sometimes best friends are great as couples. Maybe, just maybe that Gwen could fall for Peter? It would make an interesting twist and it would give Eddie a reason to kill Peter when he gets his venom powers.

The greatest thing about this episode was Stanley, he's played by Stan Lee.  Hence the name Stanley. It shows how Peter will get the Spidey Costume, and thats what so great about this series, its creative. If I would of made a series about Spiderman, Peter would have created the costume himself. I'd never think up the whole Stanley thing.  Kudos.

Also, if you haven't read this episode OR (the short) Splat. Read Splat first, you'll understand this episode a lot more.

There was only one thing that was disappointing about this episode. The fact that Eddie has no memorable lines. He has funny lines, but there just not memorable.  Its a shame. But I really can't expect there to always be memorable Eddie lines in every episode.

Overall Grade:

9.5/10

Elements 1.01 - Review

-- Elements 1.01: "In Your Honor" --

Alright, a few days ago, September 14th to be exact, I found a nifty little pitch. Its called "Elements", a new virtual series created by Ian Austin. I liked the idea, and the cast is awesome.

Elements is pretty dark & brutal. But at times it throws you a little humor, and the humor is funny & not corny.

Reading the first draft, I noticed that the Teaser is a bit long..7 pages. Normally, teasers are to be 3 - 5 pages. But really its no big deal.

As most first drafts, there are spelling mistakes. Such as:

pg. 53 " undesireable" should be spelled "undesirable", "In Your Honor" is spelled "In Your Honour", "Realise" should be "Realize", "useable" should be "usable", etc..

This pilot does, what every pilot should do. Introduce the characters and whats going to happen to them. This is what it does, and does it good.

I would give a longer review, but really, the spelling mistakes are the only real thing thats wrong, hopefully a second episode will be available to read. The ending is great and made me interested for a second episode, hopefully this gets picked up.

9/10
